Van der Vliet puts its money on First Choice

Van der Vliet Transport

A 2014 DAF XF 460 FTG Euro 6 from the DAF First Choice range proved to be the perfect vehicle when faced with the problem of meeting the stringent environmental standards on the Maasvlakte 2 as quickly and as effectively as possible. ‘This DAF is taking the place of a similar Euro 5 tractor from 2008’, says managing director Jan van der Vliet. ‘Only those trucks that meet the Euro 6 emission standard are allowed access to the Maasvlakte 2 in the Port of Rotterdam. Our other two DAF XFs already conform to this standard and with our most recent addition we now have a fleet consisting entirely of Euro 6 vehicles. The reliability and performance of these two, at the time brand new vehicles is more than enough reason for us to choose a relatively new used DAF again this time. Not least because we were able to have the vehicle adjusted to suit our specific needs and delivered in the new company colours.’

We specialise in the container transport of agricultural products (vegetables and fruit) to and from the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp. Over the past 25 years we have built up a wealth of experience in this sector. The containers are collected from and delivered to our clients. Together with my wife, Marleen, and one other full-time driver, our fleet of three tractor-trailer combinations looks after all of their transport needs. We operate primarily in the Benelux and, in particular, with reefer containers loaded with AGF products.
